Warner Music is one of the three global major labels with a roster of leading artists such as The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, David Bowie, Bruno Mars, Jason Derulo, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Green Day, David Guetta and many more. Under the Warner umbrella you can find legendary labels such as Warner Brothers, Parlophone, Atlantic, Sire, Rhino, Reprise, Nonesuch, Warner Classics, etc.
Founded in London in 1977 Beggars Banquet has since graduated to the Beggars Group, home to four of the most recognizable independent record labels around: 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade and XL Recordings. In its life, the Group has had the privilege to release music from the diverse likes of Adele, Antony & The Johnsons, Bauhaus, Beck, Bon Iver, Cat Power, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, PJ Harvey, M.I.A., Interpol, The National, Pixies, The Prodigy, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, TV On The Radio, Vampire Weekend, The White Stripes, The xx and Yo La Tengo, among countless others.
The Domino Recording Company was founded in London by Laurence Bell in 1993. The label started with some demos from friends in the American underground and its first official release was Sebadoh’s “Soul And Fire”. Since then many artists joined the roster: Pavement, Elliott Smith, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Smog and more. Later on the label started signing British bands such as Four Tet, Clinic, and The Kills. Around the label’s 10th anniversary, they signed two bands that instantly brought indie to the mainstream: Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys.
Mute was founded by Daniel Miller in 1978, and since then has signed and developed some of the world’s most influential recording artists including Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yazoo, Goldfrapp, Erasure, Moby and Richard Hawley. Whilst maintaining a firmly eclectic roster from the earliest days through the techno era and to the present day with hybrid electronic artists the label has always been a champion of electronic music.
Mute looks after a catalogue of seminal electronic artists such as Can and Cabaret Voltaire. Also Swans, Liars, Zola Jesus, Ben Frost, Yann Tiersen, Arca, Cold Specks, and New Order amongst others.
Founded in 2012. Kobalt Label Services (KLS) is a part of the Kobalt Music Group. The Kobalt roster includes Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Pet Shop Boys, Maya Jane Coles, Travis, Die Antwoord, Blonde Redhead, Karen O, Kele, Lenny Kravitz, Band of Horses, Billy Idol, and many more.
In 2009, Warner Music Group combined Ryko Distribution with ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance) to create an independent label service company that provides a suite of services including physical and digital global distribution, physical production and other aspects of the music business specially oriented to independent music.
